Sri Lankan Airlines to expand operations in India

Air Lanka which has changed its identity to Sri Lankan Airlines will soon start services to Hyderabad and Bangalore besides increasing frequency to Delhi.

Airline officials said permission from the Indian government has already been acquired to operate services to Hyderabad. Regarding Bangalore, they hoped to get permission soon.

Regarding Delhi, the airlines will start one more service from November. At present, three flights a week are operating between Colombo and New Delhi. With the introduction of one more service, the airline plans to operate two night services and two day-time services to New Delhi.

The airline is also planning to start services to Kathmandu and Dhaka as part of expanding its services to SAARC country capitals. It is already operating services to Islamabad and Male.
