Chip comes to IndiaChip, one of the oldest computer magazines in the world, has now been launched in India. The Indian edition is being published by Exicom (India), publishers of professional magazines, in collaboration with the Vogel Media group. The contents of the magazine are to be tailored to the needs of Indian computer professionals and scholars, said K K Tewari, Exicom general manager (publications).
The Indian edition of Chip was also the first English edition of this monthly magazine which has over 2.5 million readers world over. Launched in 1978, the magazine has a strong presence in the Europe, with editions in Germany, Poland, the Czech republic, Italy, Ukraine, Rumania, Hungary, Turkey and Greece. It has now also established its presence in Asian countries starting from Saudi Arabia and China. The 180-page Indian edition has an initial print run of 60,000 copies which, according to Tewari, was more than that of any other computer publication in the country. UNI |
