The proposed features of Whack Force include scheduling downloads, support for FTP links and interface to create new projects.

Chetan Shetty, president of Ruksun, has been quoted as saying that had obtained Rs 30 million capital investments from TDICI, an ICICI subsidiary, in January.

The company has two main lines of businesses. The first is to offer software development services on contract to companies in the US and the UK and the other is to build its own products and intellectual property in specialised areas such as Windows CE.

The company recorded a turnover of Rs 30 million during 1997 and the 1998 turnover was estimated at Rs 45 million. The target for the current fiscal is put at Rs 100 million.

Ruksun, in January 1997, brought out the first graphical FTP called Scotty FTP. Next in line was the Telnet Force, which allows connection to the remote server while supporting the VT-100 emulation. It was also possible to check mail, transfer files or talk using the Telnet, Shetty said.

The company used the Internet to market its products thus reducing overhead costs.
