Blue Star bags Rs 25 million job from JapanThe international software division of Blue Star Limited has bagged a Rs 25 million project from Hitachi Medical Corporation, Japan, for development of measurement software for HMC's Ultrasound Equipment.The project involves development of Windows NT based software which will be embedded in HMC's ultrasound equipment.
A dedicated development centre has been established for HMC projects worth Rs 65 million, which are already under execution for development of software for medical imaging and HMC's new generation MR scanners based on super-conducting magnet technology. These also feature Sun Ultrasparc RISC processor, Open Windows based user interface, and advanced imaging capabilities in 2-D and 3-D processing. Blue Star's International Software Division has grown consistently at a rate of over 50 per cent in the last three years and aims to achieve a turnover of Rs 1 billion by the 2001. The division has a good order book position. In the January-March quarter, it booked business worth Rs 129 million as against Rs 45 million in January-March 1997.
