Exim Bank, NASSCOM sign MoUThe Export-Import Bank of India and the National Association of Software and Service Companies have entered a memorandum of understanding to promote software and services exports.The co-operation between the two organisations was kicked off through a workshop organised in New Delhi for the benefit of NASSCOM member
This was followed by signing of the MoU between Exim Bank Managing Director Y B Desai and NASSCOM Executive Director Dewang Mehta. In terms of the MoU, Exim Bank will assist member companies of NASSCOM in export marketing, acquiring of international quality standards such as the ISO 9000 and CMM-SEI and setting up of joint ventures and subsidiaries overseas. The Exim Bank will also help NASSCOM members to bid for it components in projects overseas funded by multilateral institutions such as the World Bank and the ADB. The two institutions will jointly organise workshops and seminars for the benefit of software exporting companies. Exim Bank, which operates under the finance ministry, promotes exports of software through financing, grant support, information and advisory services. NASSCOM is the apex body of computer software and services driven it industry in the country. With more than 500 software member companies, NASSCOM maintains a database on information technology, export-import opportunities and joint ventures. NASSCOM also organises and co-ordinates Indian participation in overseas trade fairs and exhibitions, besides conducting conferences and exhibitions in India. UNI |
