It is scheduled from November 1-5.

Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee will inaugurate the event, which is expected to attract several multinationals besides leading Indian companies.

Bangalore was a natural choice for the mega event because of its software exports potential in the IT sector, infrastructure and conducive environment for investments in software and telecommunication in 1997-98, an International Technology Park statement claimed.

Bangalore had recorded a software export of Rs 20 billion compared to Madras's Rs 2.92 billion and Hyderabad's Rs 2.72 billion.

The IT policy of the Karnataka government was conducive for reaching the Rs 120 billion mark in software exports by 2002-2003, it said.

The event is being jointly organised by Keonics Wisitex Foundation and International Technology Park.
