Pentafour net rises by 81 per cent

Email this story to a friend. Software service major Pentafour Communications has recorded an 81 per cent surge in net profit during the first quarter of 1999-2000 to Rs 45.7 million as against Rs 25.2 million a year earlier.

Its turnover during the quarter was Rs 201.3 million.

Pentafour had, during the period, opened two training centres in New Delhi and in Pune. With this, the number of Pentafour's training centres has gone up to 11.

During the year, Pentafour opened 8 new franchise centres, taking the number of such centres to 72.

The company has tied up with Microsoft for offering Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer course. It is also a Master Authorised Training Provider of IBM's information technology courses certified by IBM learning services.

During the first quarter, 21 IBM authorised e-business solutions centres were opened. The courses at these centres include Web page designing, Web server administration, Internet security and e-business development.

The company's export turnover stood at Rs 82.7 million while total expenditure was Rs 134.8 million. Gross profit for the three-month period was Rs 67.3 million.
