Wipro Infotech Systems and Services today announced a complete range of computer workstations and servers for the Indian market.
The four new brands are:
Wipro Computers and Systems Integration Division Chief Executive Suresh Vaswani said the key to the entire range of new products is top class quality and a wide network with customised service options covering 161 locations across the country. Wipro-Supergenius, launched last year, was a success with over 24,000 units sold, recording a market share of 2.8 per cent. In the first quarters of financial 1999-2000, it had clocked a market share of 3.5 per cent of about 200,000 PCs sold during that period. Explaining the new range of products Vasvani said the company's first server, Wipro Netpower, is an entry-level server with Intel Pentium III processor featuring an onboard emergency management port for remote diagnostics. The company is planning to launch a complete range of servers including departmental and enterprise servers within the next two months, he added. Replying to questions, he said the company concentrates more on the Indian market now, although it has vast potential in the Asia-Pacific region. UNI |
