Samsung to sell CD-ROM, hard disks in India

The multinational Samsung Electronics Company Limited has launched its hard disk and CD-ROM drives simultaneously all over India.

Samsung already sells colour monitors in the country under the brand name Samtron.

A press release in Bombay said the company's 1.27 GB, 1.6 GB, 2.16 GB and 2.54 GB hard disks would now be sold through Godrej Pacific Technology Limited and Savex Computers, whom it has appointed as authorised distributors for its full lineup of hard disks in India.

As a mark of the confidence in the quality of its hard disks, Samsung is offering a three-year replacement warranty for the products.

The company has also launched its CD-ROM drives in the Indian market. These 20x CD-ROM drives are much more technologically advanced than the CD-ROM drives currently available in the Indian market (8x, 12x, 16x).

The Samsung CD-ROM drive has a data transfer rate of 3,000 kbps and is CD-read-write compatible. The product comes with a one-year warranty. It will be distributed by GPTL, Savex Computers and New Delhi's Integral Computers.
