Jubilant skipper Rahul Dravid credited India's historic Test victory in South Africa to teamwork.

"I am proud of the team. It's a great team effort -- the way we fought in Test after the one-day [series] loss. Credit to ourselves and the nation," Dravid said after India beat South Africa by 123 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the three-Test series.

"We will enjoy this proud moment and get back to the next game," he added.

Asked if there was extra pressure on him as captain after the one-day thrashing, Dravid said he was confident of his team.

"When the whole team backs with performance, it reflects well on yourself," he said.

With two Tests remaining in the series, Dravid said the team will be wary of the hosts as they will try to bounce back.

"We know that South Africa is a very good side; they build a strong fortress around themselves. They will come back. We know there is lot of cricket left in the series," he said.

He described fast bowler S Sreesanth's match haul of 8 for 99 as "incredible".

"He was disciplined and put the ball in right areas. He has been working hard and it showed," he said.

South African skipper Graeme Smith complimented India on their performance but promised a fightback in the next Test.

"India performed very well. They were very precise. There are lots of things that we need to look into. We need to focus on the next match and need to prepare well. We will bounce back and we know we have the potential to do so," Smith said.

Sreesanth, who was adjudged man-of-the-match, said he was overwhelmed with the words of praise from cricketing greats.

"I am happy. I have been working hard on my basics at the MRF Pace Foundation for 4-5 years. And it is an honour that former greats are appreciating my effort."

The Kerala seamer also said he was ready to do a jig in the dressing room as well.

"Yes, I like dancing and enjoy it," he said, when asked if he would dance in the dressing room to celebrate the victory.
