- England's total is also the fourth lowest by any side against India in India after Bangladesh's 115 (at Mumbai on 25-05-1998), Sri Lanka's 122 (at Mohali on 28-10-2005) and West Indies' 123 (at Calcutta on 27-11-1993).

- Munaf Patel (3-18) returned his best figures in ODIs obliterating 3 for 53 against Australia at Kuala Lumpur on 16-09-2006. Incidentally in his only two other games against England, Munaf had failed to get even one wicket!

- Ramesh Powar (3-24) registered his best figures in ODIs improving upon his 3 for 34 also against England at Faridabad on 31-03-2006.

- India won the match with 123 balls remaining, making it their biggest win against England in terms of balls spared. The previous record had also been made in a Champions Trophy match. At Colombo (RPS) on 22-09-2002 India had beaten England with 63 balls still remaining to be bowled.

- Munaf Patel won his maiden Man of the match award in his 11th match.
