"There is definite improvement in his condition and he was made to sit up in his bed yesterday and today," neurosurgeon Dr C E Deopujari said.

"His health parameters like blood pressure and pulse rate are absolutely normal now and he has been taking normal food since yesterday," Deopujari said adding "we are planning to move him out of ICU so that he could interact with
visitors."

Dr Deopujari said Jogi's "fast recovery could be attributed to his basic good health and a fighting spirit."

Noted cardiologist and Bombay Hospital Dean Dr B K Goyal said: "Jogi, who had lost sensitivity in his lower limbs following the accident, is improving and the sensitivity is returning slowly."

The 59-year-old Congress leader's car crashed into a tree near Deobhog in Chhattisgarh on Sunday. He was flown to Mumbai the same day and operated upon by a team of five doctors.
