The Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday decided to approach the Election Commission to complain about the law and order situation in Bihar.

Party vice-president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and general secretary Arun Jaitley will also bring to the EC's notice the 'misuse' of official and police machinery by the Rashtriya Janata Dal government in the state.

The delegation will seek to underline that the law and order situation in Bihar is 'not conducive' for free, fair and peaceful polls, Naqvi told PTI.

"There is rampant misuse of official and police machinery by the Rabri Devi government, which is a hurdle in the conduct of fair polls," Naqvi said.

He said the delegation would urge the EC to ensure proper and adequate deployment of central paramilitary forces so that 'manipulations' by the state administration could be avoided.
