An estimated 45 to 48 per cent voters cast their ballots on Friday in the Bahera, Jale and Ghanshyampur constituencies in Bihar's Darbhanga district.
Balloting in the three constituencies was to be held in the second phase of the assembly elections in the state on February 15. But the Election Commission rescheduled it due to 'inadequate security arrangements'.
Bahera Lok Janshakti Party candidate Jogeshwar Sahni and his supporters were arrested when they were travelling in a vehicle at Majhaura in the constituency, Superintendent of Police Sunil Kumar said.
Fifty bottles of foreign liquor were seized from the vehicle, Kumar said.
Meanwhile, repolling was held in 261 booths spread over 14 districts.
Polling in these booths was held in the second phase. However, the EC ordered the repolling following complaints of large-scale electoral irregularities.
