Lok Janshakti Party chief Ramvilas Paswan on Wednesday said his party will vote against the Rashtriya Janata Dal-Congress combine if it forms the government in Bihar.

Ten Congress legislators extended their support to the RJD on Wednesday.

"An RJD government will never be formed," he said, adding, "Even with Congress support RJD only has 85 seats, which is not enough to win a majority in the state assembly," the LJP chief said.

Paswan said that the Congress decision to back RJD would not affect his relations with the United Progressive Alliance in the Centre. He said, "Politics at the Centre and state should be seen separately."

"The Congress is not dependent on us for survival nor are we on them," he said, adding that 'even though Congress joined RJD, it also had pacts with us in many other constituencies'.

In the state number game, the UPA allies (Congress, National Congress Party, Communist Party of India and Communist Party of India-Marxist, Bahujan Samaj Party) together with RJD have only 95 seats.

However, it is 27 short of a majority in the 243-member assembly. LJP has 28 MLAs in the state.
