Bhupinder Singh Hooda was on Saturday sworn in as chief minister of Haryana.
He will be leading a Congress government after a break of nine years.
Governor A R Kidwai administered the oath of office and secrecy to Hooda.
Hooda is the 20th Chief Minister of Haryana.
Bhajan Lal, who was one of the chief ministerial contender, also attended the function.
He and 19 of his supporters did not attend the Congress legislature party meet on Thursday that elected Hooda as the leader.
