The Arjun Munda-led National Democratic Alliance government in Jharkhand will seek the confidence vote in the assembly on March 15, a day later than scheduled.

The Munda government had on Saturday said it would face the floor test on March 14.

The rescheduling was necessitated following delay in sending details to the Raj Bhavan of the scheduled business to be taken up in the assembly, Munda said.

Governor Syed Sibtey Razi had given Munda time till March 21 to prove his government's majority.

The election of the speaker will also take place on Tuesday. The ruling alliance has named Janata Dal (United) leader Inder Singh Namdhari as its candidate for the post.

On Monday, the nomination for speaker's election will be taken up, Arjun Munda told reporters in Ranchi after senior Bharatiya Janata Party member of Legislative Assembly Karia Munda took oath as pro-tem speaker.

Asked about the absence of Nationalist Congress Party MLA Kamlesh Kumar Singh during the swearing in of his ministry on Saturday, Arjun Munda said, "Singh is presently hospitalised with a heart ailment."

Singh, who is the lone NCP MLA in the state, had earlier taken oath as a minister in the Shibu Soren government, which bowed out of office on March 11.

To a question on whether NCP had formally extended support to the NDA, Munda said, "All this will be discussed after Kamlesh Singh comes back from the hospital."

Meanwhile, Kamlesh Singh said he would take a decision on supporting the NDA after consulting supporters in his constituency.

"I can't say anything on this matter now. I'm in hospital for four days and undergoing treatment," Singh told reporters from his hospital bed when his attention was drawn to his name being included in the list of ministers in the Munda government.
