Maharishi Mahesh Yogi proposes Vatcian-style state at TirupatiSpiritual guru Maharishi Mahesh Yogi has suggested to the Union government that it create a state on the lines of the Vatican in one of the spiritual centres in the country, preferably at Tirupati and Tirumala, the abode of Lord Venkateswara. Andhra Pradesh coordinator of the Maharishi Veda Vigyan Bhavan Dr Motilal Singh said the Maharishi proposed to convert the pilgrim towns of Tirupati and Tirumala into a kaliyuga vaikuntam. According to the Maharishi, such a state should be allowed to have its embassies around the world to propagate the teachings of the Vedas, impart health care and other spiritual values. The proposed state should be run in accordance with "natural laws". He has also made a proposal to build the world's tallest building in the Vastu Shastra way. The building would act as "the global capital with a cosmic administration based on natural laws". The Maharishi proposed to recruit and train young people to disseminate Vedic culture and administration throughout the world, Dr Singh said. The international director of the Maharishi Institute of Management, Steve Schulte, said the proposed state was aimed at creating "heaven on earth" and bringing about good will, peace and progress in the universe.
