Court allows 10-year-old to sit for graduate exam

The Patna high court on Monday allowed a 10-year-old to appear for the Bachelor of Science part two and three examinations from the Patna university.

Justice B N Agrawal passed the order upon hearing a writ petition filed by the boy, Tathagat. He asked the university to reply within two weeks.

Senior counsel for the petitioner, J P Shukla said, ''If the boy is allowed to appear for the examination, he would break the world record.''

Tathagat was allowed to appear for the part one examination. But the university had decided to bar him from the other two, as he was too young.

Tathagat had appeared for the Central Board of Secondary Education exams after intervention from the Delhi high court. He scored high marks then.
