Business Insights For NewcomersISELIN, New Jersey "Everything you wanted to know about starting a new business but were afraid to ask," is the theme of a seminar next month. Organized by MetLife, it will be held September 16, 6.30 pm at MetLife, 485-B Route 1 South; Suite 360; Iselin. Topics to be discussed include entities to be considered to minimize income taxes, pension plan opportunities and other deferred compensation/fringe benefits arrangements to retain employees. It also considers protecting your business, including matters regarding intellectual property, NDAs, and employment agreements, and financing issues like venture capital agreements, angel agreements, debt financing. It is hosted by Vinay Navani, CPA of Wilkin & Guttenplan, PC, Parag Patel, Esq, and Bala Subramanian, LUTCF of MetLife. World Hindu Conference in MidwestGLENDALE, Illinois The World Hindu Sabha of America will hold a conference on October 17 at Ramada Inn & Suites, starting at 11 am, with a Gayatri Mahayagna, followed by prasad. The general assembly meeting will take place between 1 and 2.30 pm. The second general assembly meeting will take place at 4 pm. The theme of the conference is the spread of vedic wisdom in the new millennium. The conference has been created with young people in mind, its organizers say. Events including chanting of mantras, discussion of Hindu religious practices and legends. Cultural events are also planned. Donations, $ 25 for adults, free for children.
