The government said the solution arrived on the Bhojshala temple dispute in Madhya Pradesh was 'most sound and feasible' and arrangements done following it were working satisfactorily, Tourism Minister Jagmohan said in the Lok Sabha on Monday.

Members of the Muslim community were being allowed access to the premises for namaz on Fridays between 1300 and 1500 hours.

The Hindus were being permitted access on Tuesdays, including being allowed to hold traditional ceremonies during 'Basant Panchami' each year, Jagmohan said while elaborating on the recommendations of the state government, the views of the Archaeological Survey of India and Department of Culture.

Besides watch and ward staff, the safety and security of the monument was the responsibility of the collector and district magistrate and the state government, he said.

Giving figures of the inflow of visitors to Bhojshala between April eight and 25 this year, Jagmohan said most of them visited it on Tuesdays and Fridays.
