Prince Charles arrives in Mumbai

Heir to the British throne, Prince Charles arrived in Mumbai on Monday evening on a three-day-visit to the metropolis.

Charles arrived by a special Indian Airlines aircraft and was accorded a warm welcome by the Maharashtra government's protocol department.

He is scheduled to visit HMS Kent, the Type 23 Duke Class Frigate, which has sailed into the city to undertake joint exercises with the Indian Navy, sources at the British High Commission's office said.

On November 4, he is scheduled to interact with IT experts during a NASSCOM-organised seminar, meet Bollywood personalities, including Ketan Mehta, Yash Chopra, Manmohan Shetty, Aamir Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Rani Mukherjee and British actor Toby Stevens, and attend a reception for 350 guests from various walks of life.

An interesting appointment is with the famous dabbawalas outside Churchgate Railway Station. He will also visit the heritage Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus.

He will depart on November 5 after a visit to Cheshire Home, an old age home.
