The chief ministers of Karnataka and Haryana, S M Krishna and Om Prakash Chautala, on Saturday called on their Andhra Pradesh counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu, who was injured in a naxalite attack in Tirumala on October 1.

After the meeting with Naidu at his Jubilee Hills residence in Hyderabad, Krishna said, "We have firm resolve to put down extremist activity with an iron hand. We met the chief minister (Naidu) and other ministers. We feel there should be greater coordination between Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and other states in tackling this problem."

Chautala said he wished Naidu a speedy recovery.

"God has given him a fresh lease of life and an opportunity to serve the people of his state. The entire nation has sympathies for him. We must take measures to tighten the security for all VIPs so that incidents of this nature do not recur," he added.

Tamil Nadu Governor P S Ramamohana Rao also called on Naidu.
