Common Entrance Examination for Design
Common Entrance Examination for Design is an all India examination conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay on behalf of the ministry of human resources development, department of education, Government of India.
CEED is a qualifying examination for admission to Master of Design programmes at the Industrial Design Centre (IIT, Bombay), Instrument Design and Development Centre (IIT, Delhi), Centre for Product Design and Manufacturing (IISc, Bangalore), and Design Programme (IIT, Kanpur).
CEED 2004 examination will be conducted on February 1, 2004.
Eligibility: Bachelor's degree/equivalent in Engineering, Architecture or Design; Interior Design Professional Diploma of CEPT (5 year); BFA (Professional course in Applied Art/Fine Arts); GD Art (5 years professional course); Professional Diploma of NID. Final year students in the above programmes are also eligible.
How to Apply: Application forms with information brochure can be obtained in person/by post from the GATE office, IIT Bombay on payment of Rs 990 (Rs 495 for SC/ST candidates) by demand draft in favour of the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay payable at Mumbai.

Date of examination: February 1, 2004. Commonwealth Academic Staff Fellowship
The University Grants Commission, Bahadurshah Zafar Marg, New Delhi, invites applications for the Award of Commonwealth Academic Staff Fellowships for the academic year 2004 offered by the Commonwelath Secretariat, UK.
Applications are invited from permanent faculty members working in the University/College/Institution including Medical Institute. The fellowships are tenable in any academic subject (including medicine and dentistry). The fellowships are not available for study towards higher degree.
Eligibility:
Citizenship and residency: Candidates should be a citizen of India.
Qualifications: Ph D or other postgraduate qualifications accepted as sufficient for the career the candidate is following.
Time restriction: Candidates must have been awarded their doctorate before October 1, 1999.
Teaching requirement: At least two years experience as a staff member of a university or similar institution in India.
Age limit: Candidates must not be over the age of 50 on October 1, 2004.
Duration: Six months.
Award will be expected to commence from October 2004. Eligible candidates may apply in the prescribed proforma through the head of the University/Institute.
Applications/nominations must be submitted on the appropriate nomination form through the Registrar/Vice-Chancellor/Director of the Institute.
