The toll in Sunday's tsunami disaster in Sri Lanka has risen to 22,799 and 4,059 people are still missing, the president's office said on Thursday.

An agency report said the number of people displaced by the disaster is being put at 600,810.
Over 80,000 people have been confirmed dead across Asia in the Tsunami disaster. The International Red Cross has said the toll could go up to 1,00,000.
