Colleague's murder: BJP suspends Alka Mishra

The Bharatiya Janata Party has suspended corporator Alka Mishra, arrested in connection with the killing of the secretary of the Lucknow unit of the party's women cell Malti Sharma, from the primary membership of the party, sources said on Sunday.

Mishra, wife of Deputy Inspector General (Prisons) P K Mishra, was also the city vice-president of the BJP women's cell.

She was arrested on Saturday and charged with hatching a conspiracy to get Sharma eliminated by police constable Raj Kumar Rai.

Sharma was shot dead on the night of June 7. Her body was recovered the next morning from Lucknow's Sarvoday Nagar locality.

Besides Mishra and Rai, a property dealer Deepa Singh has also been arrested in connection with the murder.
