Giving a new twist to the heist mystery, mark sheet scam accused former Visva-Bharati vice-chancellor Dilip Sinha has reportedly informed West Bengal CID officials that the burgled Nobel medal of Rabindranath Tagore is still in Santiniketan.

His claims could not be thoroughly examined by the sleuths on Saturday because he had complained of chest pain and was taken to the state-run S S K M Hospital's cardiology department for treatment.

CID's Additional Director-General R K Mohanty on Monday said that Sinha, now in police custody following his arrest in the mark sheet scandal, would be further interrogated with regard to his claim.

The CBI has been probing the heist since March with the help of the state CID and had claimed 'some breakthroughs'. It has been informed of Sinha's statement.
