125 explosives devices, 7 kg IED recovered from Poonch cave

Army troops on Wednesday busted a natural cave hideout and recovered a huge cache of ammunition and explosive material, including 125 explosives devices and 7 kg of improvised explosive device in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said.

On a tip off, troops launched a cordon and search operation in the thick, rugged mountainous terrain in Bhimber Gali area of Poonch district and discovered a natural cave hideout, they said.

During searches, troops recovered 2 AK rifles, 2 pistols, 31 Chinese hand grenades, 22 UBGL grenades, 18 anti-tank rifle grenades, 20 RPG boosters, 13 RPGs, 63 rounds of pika gun, 267 rounds of AK rifle, 7 KG IEDs, 20 electric detonators and one anti-personnel mine, they said.

However, nobody was arrested during the operation, they said, adding it was a big cave hidoeut to accomodate at least 10 to 12 militants.
