J&K: 2 IEDs defused, major tragedies averted

Security forces on Friday averted two major tragedies by detecting and defusing two improvised explosive devices in Rajouri and Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said.

Troops, during routine checking, detected an IED of RDX weighing 2 kg on Rajouri-Saaj road at Nerojal area in Rajouri district on Friday evening, they said.

The IED, which was planted by militants to target security forces, was defused by the bomb disposal squad, they said.

Troops also recovered another IED on Sangaldan-Tatapani road at Bajanari area in Udhampur district early on Friday, they said.

The IED was defused by the Border Security Force troops safely, they said.
