Twelve kindergarten students were killed when the shuttle bus they were travelling in caught fire in China's Shandong province, police said on Wednesday.
Xinhua news agency reported that the mishap, which occurred on Tuesday in Linyi city, killed five kids on the spot.
The bus had 23 people, including a driver and teacher. Five of the injured -- four kids and a teacher -- are receiving treatment at a local hospital.
An investigation is underway, the report said.
