Pakistan President General Pervez Musharraf's mother Zarin, accompanied by son Javed and grandson Bilal (right) on Thursday visited the Naharwali Haveli, their ancestral home, in New Delhi.

Enthusiastic crowds thronged the lanes to catch a glimpse of the high-profile visitor. They interacted with her and showered her with gifts.

Zarin, who is visiting the haveli after a gap of nearly 23 years, inspected the building, where Musharraf was born. She also met the inmates of the house.

On Friday, she will visit the Muslim university in Aligarh, where she studied, an official source said.

She will visit Lucknow on Sunday, the official said, adding Zarin was keen to visit Agra as well.

Musharraf is expected to visit New Delhi on April 17 to watch the sixth One Day International cricket match between India and Pakistan.

The Pakistan president is also scheduled to meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, an Indian government spokesman said.
