Ending her 39-day tapas in the holy town of Amarkantak, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Uma Bharti on Sunday left for Delhi to meet party president Lal Kishenchand Advani.

A day after her detractor and Vidisha MP Shivraj Singh Chouhan was appointed Madhya Pradesh party president Bharti arrived at Katni by road.

"This is a scheduled visit and not being undertaken all of a sudden. I held some discussions with Advaniji about 15 days ago and now I am going to Delhi to meet him," Bharti said.

On Chouhan's appointment, the former Madhya Pradesh chief minister said she was consulted regarding the matter.

Declining to comment on the performance of Babulal Gaur government in the state, Bharti said she would express her views on the issue in party fora and not before the media.

Ganesh Singh, MP from Satna, accompanied Bharti.
