In a major breakthrough, Tariq Ahmed Dar, believed to be involved in multiple blasts in Delhi on October 29, was arrested by the central security agency on Saturday and handed over to the Delhi Police, official sources said Sunday.

Sources said Dar, a resident of Solina in Srinagar, was arrested by the Intelligence Bureau sleuths from the Gas Turbine terminal at Pampore in South Kashmir's Pulwama district Saturday evening and later handed over to the Delhi Police.

Dar was arrested while he was driving his Maruti Car, bearing registration number JK-01H6731.

A police spokesman said Saturday night that Dar was kidnapped by militants and his car was also taken away.

Sources said the Central Reserve Police Force, which took over the command of security of the entire Srinagar district from the Border Security Force in September 2005, provided the necessary infrastructure support.

When contacted, Inspector General of Police, Kashmir, Javed Makhdoomi told UNI that state police had no knowledge about the arrest.

Dar's parents had filed a ''missing person'' resport with police in Srinagar.
