Monica says she never married Salem: Uncle

Reiterating her earlier stand, Monica Bedi, girlfriend of underworld don Abu Salem, on Thursday told her uncle Purushotham Lal Bedi in Hyderabad that she never married the extradited underworld don, the uncle said.

Speaking to media outside the Chanchalguda jail after meeting his niece, Purushotham Bedi quoting Monica said the marriage between her and Abu Salem never took place. Monica said she would like to meet her father, he said adding he also expressed support of her family members at this juncture.

Monica Bedi is in judicial remand till November 25 in a passport forgery case. Central Bureau of Investigation special judge C V Subramanyam had on Wednesday allowed Purushotham Lal Bedi to meet Monica in the jail.
