China's International Rescue Team has for the first time successfully used a mobile hospital system while taking part in earthquake rescue efforts in remote areas of Pakistan, a senior official said.

"It is also the first time that the CIRT conducted operations in mountainous areas where mobile hospitals played a crucial role in search and rescue operations," chief medical officer Peng Bibo said.

The CIRT rescued three survivors and treated more than 590 people in and around Balacot in Pakistan, he was quoted as saying by Xinhua news agency.

He said the mobile hospitals enlarged the coverage of medical aid by adopting the new mode of first aid, emergency treatment, operation, systematic diagnosis and recovery, which worked efficiently in the quake-hit areas of Pakistan.

China has integrated advanced technology with emergency medicine to build mobile hospital systems, he said.
