Sajjad Gani Lone, Chairman of breakaway faction of People's Conference questioned the representative character of the separatist Hurriyat Conference led by Mirwaiz Umer Farooq.

The ongoing talks on Kashmir was a conspiracy to divide Kashmiris, he added.

'Hurriyat does not represent all of J&K'

"Some people were trying to seek a certificate from Delhi or Islamabad while the fact is that only Kashmiris would decide the fate of Kashmir," Sajjad said without naming the moderate faction of Hurriyat Conference.

Lone, who was addressing a party convention at Pulwama in south Kashmir on Saturday, said India and Pakistan have no right to impose leaders or solutions on Kashmiris who have sacrificed their lives and honour for a sacred cause.

Explaining the importance of dialogue as a civilised tool of conflict resolution, Sajjad, however, claimed that the ongoing talks on Kashmir were aimed at dividing Kashmiris.

"We won't allow India and Pakistan to decide our fate and will defeat any attempt to foist leaders on us," he further said.

Sajjad said the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad bus service was made possible by the sacrifices of Kashmiris.
