Taking a dig at former Union minister Saif-ud-din Soz, believed to be instrumental in resumption of Centre-Hurriyat talks, the Shahidul Islam, spokesman for the moderate faction of Hurriyat said on Monday that the dialogue process had been possible only because of the immense sacrifices by people of Jammu and Kashmir.

"People like Soz, Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and opposition National Conference President Omar Abdullah are making statements to create confusion among the people," he said. "We, as the representatives of people, are making efforts for honourable and lasting solution of Kashmir issue," Islam added.

Claiming that the state has not changed a bit and the arrests and killings continued, he said a lot of noise has been made about the dialogue process. Soz played a key role in brokering Centre's peace talks with Hurriyat Conference, which were held in New Delhi early September.
