Even as Congress legislator G Chinna Reddy was speaking on the motion, the senior police officer informed the Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy about the anonymous phone call that bomb had been planted in the assembly premises.

Police then informed the panel speaker Purushotham Reddy, who adjourned the house immediately as large posse of police personnel descended on the assembly premises with the sniffer dogs and started conducting a thorough search.

Police also pressed into service Jammers to avoid any untoward incident. State Home Minister K Jana Reddy was seen supervising the search.

However, a thorough search yielded nothing suspicious, police said. The House was adjourned briefly at 11.55 am to enable the bomb disposal squad to conduct the search.

"The police control room received the call. As a precautionary measure, we conducted the search. But, it turned out to be a hoax," Home Minister K Jana Reddy told reporters in the Assembly premises. The House resumed its business at 12.10 pm. The Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy was present in the House when the news about the anonymous call came in.
