US Secret Service arrives in Hyderabad

United States Secret Service officials have started arriving in Hyderabad ahead of President George W Bush's scheduled visit to the Pearl City on March 3.

Official sources in Hyderabad Wednesday said seven trucks containing equipment and material of the US Secret Service reached a star hotel at Begumpet.

They included parts for two helicopters, which will be used by the President during his visit in Hyderabad. Few secret officials checked into the hotel on February 20.

Some of them were being accommodated on the fourth floor of the hotel. In the next few days, some more advance teams of the US president are expected to arrive.

They will identify the requirements and make an initial assessment ahead of the trip. Bush will be the second US president after Bill Clinton to visit Hyderabad.

According to sources, the US president is expected to spend four hours in Hyderabad. It is learnt he will reach Hyderabad on March 3 at 1030 hours.

From Begumpet airport he will go to Acharya N G Ranga Agricultural University by helicopter where he will be given a briefing on the research work on seeds.

He is expected to interact with with some women's organisations, self-help groups and representatives of farmers' organisations.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy will meet Bush and explain about the progress made by the state in various fields.

Later, Bush will proceed to the Indian School of Business where he will interact with some industrialists and government officials.
