A 16-year-old schoolgirl in Noida has alleged being kidnapped and gang raped by four youths, but the preliminary report after the medical examination does not confirm sexual assault, a police official said Saturday.

The medical examination report "is still inconclusive as rape has not been confirmed by the preliminary tests. The pathological report will be recieved in a few days and then we will know the truth," Senior Superintendent of Police Piyush Mordia said.

He said police would take action after a thorough investigation of the case.

The girl registered a first information report at Sector 24 police station alleging that she was kidnapped from her house in Gijode area on Thursday and gang raped by four youths.

She somehow managed to escape from the clutches of her abductors and reached home around noon Friday, she said in her complaint.

She also alleged that a neighbour, Vishesh Sharma, had assisted in the abduction.

He was then thrashed by members of the girl's family and rushed with severe injuries to government hospital from where the doctors referred him to a Delhi hospital, police said.

Mordia said Sharma has lodged a complaint of assault against the girl's family.
