It is probably for the first time the United Kingdom police has officially communicated with their Indian counterparts on the failed Glasgow terror plot.

The UK police have formally sent a letter rogatory to their Indian counterparts seeking information on Kafeel and Sabeel Ahmed, the two brothers alleged to be involved in the Glasgow terror plot which took place in June.

The Central Bureau of Investigation, which was asked to look into the matter, has informed the Bangalore police about the request.

Soon after the Bangalore connection to the UK terror plot came to light, the Bangalore police conducted a parallel investigation into the antecedents of the two brothers. All through the investigation, the Bangalore police claimed that they were just collecting information and if needed, they would pass it on to the UK police.

The UK police, who did not mention clearly what exactly needs to be corroborated, would be looking for Kafeel's and his brother's phone records, hard disks, and also the contents of the emails sent by them.

The Bangalore police said they will share all information they have regarding Kafeel Ahmed and his brother Dr Sabeel Ahmed.
