Gujjar leaders Kirori Sing Bainsala and Roop Singh, against whom murder and conspiracy cases have been filed, would not be arrested without completion of an inquiry into the charges, Rajasthan government said on Wednesday night.

"The matter is under investigation and an inquiry is on. Without completion of the inquiry, no action would be taken against anyone. No action would be taken against Bainsala and Roop Singh nor will they be arrested," Information Minister Bhawani Singh Rajawat told PTI in Jaipur.

Rajawat said if the charges against Bainsala, Roop Singh and others are found baseless, government might withdraw the cases against them. He said the FIR was filed against the Gujjar leaders as a matter of routine.

Earlier on May 29, cases were filed against Bainsala, who spearheaded a weeklong violent agitation in the state to press the community's demand for ST status, in Karauli district charging them with murder and criminal conspiracy in connection with the killing of a Rajasthan Armed Constabulary man during violence.
