Even as the Janata Dal-Secular and and Bharatiya Janata Party legislators left for New Delhi on Monday night, H D Deve Gowda continued to sulk as he was reportedly unhappy with this move. Sources said that Gowda had requested his MLAs not to go to New Delhi and parade before the President.

However, the JD-S MLAs had to argue their way through before taking the flight to New Delhi along with their coalition partners, the BJP.

Gowda felt that the BJP was trying to gain national mileage and the JD-S should not be helping them. Gowda also felt that it was unnecessary to parade the MLAs before the President. He said that the party should await a final decision by the President, instead of putting up this show.

"Do what you want. I cannot say anything more," Gowda reportedly said.

Meanwhile, Karnataka Governor Rameshwar Thakur briefed Home Minister Shivraj Patil.

Thakur, under fire from the BJP for not inviting its chief ministerial candidate B S Yeddyurappa to form the government, briefed Patil on the developments that happened after he sent a status report on October 31.

Raj Bhavan sources said in Bangalore that the governor in his report has outlined the chronology of events since the fall of the JDS-BJP government headed by H D Kumaraswamy.

This included the dharna staged by the BJP to mount pressure for inviting it to form a government and opinion of legal and constitutional experts on the claim by the saffron party to form the government with JDS support.

Thakur has also referred to his meetings with Kumaraswamy and BJP delegations, they said adding the report contained several annexures in the form of newspaper clippings and also letters written to the Governor by Congress leaders.
