B S Yeddyurappa will miss his wife Maithra Devi when takes oath as chief minister of Karnataka.

Yeddyurappa's family said Devi, who passed away three years ago, would have been the happiest lady on earth.

Yeddyurappa's daughter Uma Devi said her mother stood by her father throughout his struggle and was sad that she will not be by his side when he reaps the rewards.

Yeddyurappa's son Vijayendra who shared a similar view is all praise for his father. He is excited and jubilant and said his father has been a hard worker throughout. "I am sure he will do a lot for the farmers as he is from that background," he said. Yeddyurappa started off as an agriculturist before setting foot in politics.

So how is he as a father? Both the son and daughter said that he did what he said and always tried to achieve what he wanted. The ambitious attitude made Yeddyurappa short-tempered and there have been several occasions when he has lost his temper with both his children. But they said he only meant good and his anger was short lived.

They said Yeddyurappa never had a political background and he had made it on his own, which is exactly why his political achievements are so great.

The children have no complaints about him. They said that although Yeddyurappa remained busy most of the time, he made it a point to spend whatever little time he could with the family. "As long as our mother was alive, it was fine as she was the backbone of the family and took care of all of us," Uma Devi said.

"Father, despite having very little time, always made it a point to join us for a family outing once a year, which was compulsory in our family," Uma Devi added.

Yeddyurappa has three daughters and two sons. All of them are now in Bangalore to bask in the glory of their father taking over as the first BJP chief minister in South India. They have left no stone unturned to make their father feel even more special. Special food, sweets are being prepared. "We will accompany him to the Vidhan Soudha where he will be sworn in. It sure will be a proud and emotional moment for all us," Uma Devi said.
