For B S Yeddyurappa, even the stars failed to shine as he was forced to resign as chief minister of Karnataka on Monday.

He had become chief minister days after he changed his name from Yediyurappa to Yeddyurappa as per astrologers' advice.

He even officially notified the change in the spelling of his name through an affidavit dated October 11.

Many presumed that his stock went up after the change of the name as the Janata Dal-Secular, in a sudden change of mind, came forward to support a BJP-led government, ending weeks of uncertainty following the collapse of the H D Kumaraswamy ministry.

The BJP leader changed his name apparently emulating former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy who had also changed his name which his supporters presumed helped him to complete his tenure worked out between BJP and JDS.

But, it failed to click in Yeddyurappa's case.
