Bhavani Singh is a real life saver. He will forever be remembered for the role he played in diffusing the second bomb planted at the revered shrine of Kwaja Moinuddin Chisti in Ajmer. Had this bomb gone off, lot many lives would have been lost.

The second bomb, which was discovered at the dargah, was more powerful than the one that exploded, police say.

Bhavani Singh, a havildar and an ex-jawan, played a crucial role in diffusing the second bomb. Talking to rediff.com Singh said the moment he saw the bag, he could easily make out that it was a bomb. Armed with a metal detector, he checked the box. Once it was confirmed, he ran out with the bag.

Singh says that he carried the bag as far as possible from the shrine. Once he reached a safe distance, he informed his seniors, who then rushed to the spot and with the help of experts diffused the bomb.

Forensic Science experts say the bomb, which was kept in a metal box was filled with gun powder and nitrate chloride. The two substances were filled in an iron pipe and later packed inside the box. The box was attached with a rechargeable battery and a timer device.

FSL experts say this bomb was more threatening than the one that went off. It could have easily killed at least 50 people had it gone off, experts say.

Bhavani Singh thanks the Almighty that the second blast was averted. There were at least 300 people in the dargah when the bag was recovered, he added. With a relieved look on his face, he said that while in the army, he had seen several bombs and that experience had helped him in dealing with the current situation.
