Concerned over the rebellion launched by his party senior leader M P Prakash after Janata Dal (S) pledged support to the Bharatiya Janata Party to form a coalition government, Karnataka former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy on Sunday ferried MLAs loyal to him to a private resort on the city outskirts.

About 40 JD(S) MLAs left in a bus to the resort where Kumaraswamy would hold consultations with them and chart out plans to lure rebels, sources close to the party said.

Kumaraswamy's efforts to placate Prakash on Saturday and convince him to fall in line with the party's decision of reviving coalition ties with BJP have so far failed.

Prakash, angered by the humiliation meted out to him by JD(S) top leaders, was holding talks with his supporters to decide on the future course of action.
