Imprisoned SIMI leaders shifted to different jails

Jailed leaders of the banned Students Islamic Movement of India, including its chief Safdar Nagori, were shifted to different jails of the state from Indore, as advised by intelligence agenies.

Nagori and Mohammad Saleem were shifted to Rewa Jail, while Abdul Razzaq and Akbar Baig were transferred to Shahdol jail, under tight security, official sources said on Monday. Another SIMI activist Sheikh Mumtaz was shifted to Satna jail.

The jail authorities on the basis of intelligence reports have been ordered to keep the arrested SIMI leaders in different jails of the state as it is not advisable to keep them in one jail under the present circumstances.

After shifting of the five SIMI leaders, nearly 15 more activists of the banned organisation were there in Indore jail and soon they too would also be shifeted to other jails in the state, the sources said.
