Union Minister Dasari Narayanarao's son Hari Hara Prabhu on Wednesday denied that he was kidnapped from a hotel room in Chitoor town in Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday.

Speaking from his hotel room in Chennai, he told TV9 news channel that he had come to Chennai on his own on Tuesday, disputing  his estranged wife Susheela's complaint to the police that he was kidnapped from a hotel room in Chitoor town.

His wife had complained to the police that a group of five armed men had barged into the hotel room in Seshapuram area where Prabhu was put up and whisked him away at gunpoint.

Prabhu said he had gone to Chitoor following a call from his wife that her brother was in hospital. But in the hotel he was given some drinks laced with some susbstance and signatures were taken from him on some papers, he alleged.

He said he escaped from the hotel when there was no one around and had gone to Chennai on his own.

His parents had no role in any of his problems with his wife, he said.

Prabhu and Susheela, who had a love marriage, have been estranged for quite some time and a divorce case was already on between the two.

The minister's son has already spoken to the superitendent of police, Chitoor, and has sent him a letter explaining his position and denying he was kidnapped.

Susheela, on her part, said she had no no role in the alleged kidnap nor was she interested in Prabhu's wealth.
