The political affairs committee of the ruling Mizo National Front will convene a meeting next week to decide whether the party's lone Lok Sabha member would support the United Progressive Alliance government in the trust vote or not.

The decision would be made before the trust vote was taken up in the Parliament, a member of the MNF's PAC told PTI on Friday.

The PAC is likely to meet on Wednesday or Thursday.

"We will convene the meeting as soon as our vice president Tawnluia, who is also the home minister (of Mizoram), returns from New Delhi," he said.

Tawnluia would be meeting Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil on Monday to discuss the withdrawal of Mizoram's India Reserve battalion from Chhattisgarh before Christmas.

Meanwhile, the lone Lok Sabha member from the state Vanlalzawma said that he personally favoured the Indo-US nuclear deal as it would benefit the country as a whole.

He, however, said that his support or otherwise of the UPA government is not his personal choice and he will abide by the decision of his party.

He said that he was approached by UPA leaders and also by National Democratic Alliance leaders on the issue of support.
